Photos of Kilclief Castle

Kilclief Castle. It was reputedly built by, and was the residence of, John Sely who was Bishop of Down from 1429 to 1443. Kilclief Castle was the earliest tower-house in Lecale, built between 1413 and 1441. It was garrisoned for the Crown by Nicholas FitzSymon and ten warders in 1601-2. Unfortunately as I was out for a long walk, I only brought my 70-300mm zoom lens. Must go back some time with a widr lens to show off he whole building.
Kilclief Castle is a tourist attraction, one of the Castles in Kilclief, An Rìoghachd Aonaichte. It is located: 363 km from Dublin, 600 km from Poll a' Ghruthain, 870 km from Sheffield. Read further
